Curiosity Experiment: What Your Heroes Can Tell You About Yourself

Curiosity Experiment: What Your Heroes Can Tell You About Yourself

Here’s your weekly curiosity experiment:

Carl Jung suggested that we all carry what he called a Golden Shadow: a propensity to escape our fears of success by projecting greatness onto others – in other words, idealizing other people rather than taking responsibility for cultivating our own greatness. (For more on this, see my latest blog post: The Celebrity Guide to Your Hopes and Fears.)

This week, consider where your Golden Shadow hangs out:

Who do you most admire?
What qualities attract you to them?
How might you be disowning these qualities in yourself?

If these questions resonate with you, have a look at Worship Wisely, a six-week group coaching program I’ve designed with Tanya Geisler. It’s all about waking up from our compulsion to compare ourselves to others.
